Mit "Lord Must Fix My Soul" von der Dad Horse Experience liegt jetzt die zweite Single der "White On Black"-Trilogie auf off label records vor. Die hochwertig bedruckten Covers der Serie sind aus festem Karton und werden von jeweils einem anderen Künstler unter der formalen Vorgabe "weiss auf schwarz" gestaltet. Für das Cover von "Lord Must Fix My Soul" konnte Outlaw-Illustrator Christoph Mueller gewonnen werden.
Der Titelsong ist der Höhepunkt jeder Liveshow der Dad Horse Experience - vier Strophen darüber, wie beschissen die Sünde ist, im Refrain gefolgt von der heimlichen Hymne aller seelisch Angeschlagenen an den Großen Klempner der Seelen.
Auf der B-Seite findet sich mit "Find My Body Down" eine düster-bizarre Ballade über einen Mann, der am Valentinstag zu seiner Liebsten reist und nie ankommt, weil sein Flugzeug in einer mächtigen Wolke aus Blut und Kerosin aufgeht - allerdings nicht bevor der Reisende seine Seele dem Herrn anempfohlen hat...

""Kingdom It Will Come" might well suggest a song about judgment day but, if it is, it is a truly surreal one featuring lyrics like "…Ah dead babies singing in the sky a song of marshmallow and apple pie". ... Another unexpected twist comes in "The Party" with the introduction of a cheesy drum machine that makes a return visit with, of all things, a big muscular electric guitar for company. I've got to admit that did raise a big smile for there is clearly no stopping the Dad Horse Experience in their attempt to knock you off balance. ..." (Bluesbunny)

Jenny & The Steady Go's – A female fronted Rock´n´Roll explosion
Sollte im Jahre 2013 wirklich noch Rock'n'Roll gespielt werden? "Unbedingt!" muss die Antwort lauten, wenn es so authentisch und frisch klingt wie auf dieser Platte. Hier wird auf keinen Trend geschielt, sondern eine mitreißende Hommage an die Vorbilder der eigenen Vorbilder präsentiert. Konsequent wurde auf Studio Schnickschnack verzichtet und hauptsächlich mit 2 Raummikrofonen live aufgenommen. Dennoch oder wohl genau deswegen sitzt jede Eins, wo sie hingehört, twängt die Gitarre wie in den 50ern und man ist ganz nah bei Frontfrau Jenny Thrill, wenn sie gesteht, dass sie diese "sweet nothin's" ganz durcheinander bringen.
Schnell die Scheibe umgedreht - hier geht es rauher und mit sauberer Dreiakkordarbeit und einem fabelhaften Saxophon von Molly Duncan weiter, der das auch bereits für Tom Petty oder die Eurythmics erledigt hat. Das Tanzbein zuckt und ist bereit für den Allnighter.
Es ist klar, dass diese Single aus einem entscheidenden Grund erscheint: Liebe zur Musik und zu den Wurzeln. Spielt 2013 mehr Rock'n'Roll!

The Mokkers is an all-girl band from Berlin that will make you feel good. No matter how bitter is the crankiness digging its way through your chest. The Mokkers is the cure.
Their teenage bedrooms resonating with a wide spectrum of music from Link Wray, The Kinks, The Stooges as well as Holly Golightly and The Whites Stripes, they brewed the whole thing to provide today a pop infused surf rock sound dusted with a little garage dirt and spiced up with a rockabilly twist. With no other aim than to make you smile and dance.
And if you don't like genre labelling, well good for you, neither do they. So let's just say The Mokkers sound is like your favorite grandma's comfort food. Simple, humble, soulful, the kind that makes you feel like a kid again and as soon as you dig in, you know you want more. No poses here, no pretention, just straight to the point warm songs that will summerize your heart and make you go "yeah!"
